This weekend, July 7 and 8, marks the 10th anniversary of Art in the Yard, the annual outdoor, juried art exhibition and sale. More than 50 artists will be displaying their original work for the entire weekend from 10 to 8 on Saturday and 10 to 5 on Sunday.

What is your favourite? Painting, jewelry, ceramics, glass? It’s all there. Spend the day. Join in for the weekend. The show is held on the grounds of Elora Centre for the Arts at 75 Melville St. In Elora. Admission is by donation. They suggest $3. Bring your children. They enter for free and can participate in a creative area set up just for them. There is also a music photo contest where youth, ages 8 to 12, are invited to take photographs of the musical venues and submit them for prizes. Art in the yard event in Elora, ONThere will be non-stop music throughout the event. The main act is Indigo Riff, a jazz, blues-infused band. They play from 1 to 5 on both afternoons. Other acts, provided by The Acoustic Cafe, include Steve Royal, Peter Light, Chris Roberts, Dawn & Marra, George Scott, and more. Stay for the Saturday evening show with Rich Burnett, Ian Reid, Nick Gush and David Celia.

Food and treats will be available at the show. Cool down with Mapletons Ice Cream (hint: look for a coupon for a free scoop in The Wellington Advertiser!) . You can also satisfy your hunger and thirst with goodies from Fergies Fine Foods and From the Hearth Pizza.
